Part-Time Development & Marketing Specialist

The Development & Marketing Specialist is a dynamic and results-oriented individual that will be responsible for supporting Refuge’s fundraising efforts and donor relations activities. The primary focus will be to assist in executing the fundraising strategy, coordinate donor stewardship initiatives, and manage fundraising events. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a worthwhile cause by securing the resources necessary to provide vision services to children in need.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Nonprofit Mangement, Communications, Business), or equivalent experience.

Necessary qualities include strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, proficiencey in using donor managment software and Microsoft Office suite, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and most importantly – passion for the mission of Refuge and the well-being of children.

Preferred experience includes previous experience in nonprofit fundraising or development, as well as experience with Canva or Photoshop.

This is a part-time position, with an average of 20 hours per week. The schedule may vary depending on fundraising events and deadlines. The position has the potential to grow into a full-time position based on the needs of the organization.

Full-Time School-Based Therapist – High School

Therapist to provide trauma-informed therapeutic services to high-school aged children and families exposed to violence, abuse and trauma. In addition to helping clients to develop ways to use their own strengths to cope with issues, therapist will provide education and support to caregivers to enhance their relationships and grow in their understanding of child development and the potential effects of childhood exposure to violence and/or trauma. Services will be delivered within the Alton School District. 

Qualifications

Position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field, as well as experience utilizing appropriate treatment modalities with children who have experienced trauma, and thorough knowledge of childhood development. Must hold Illinois LCSW or LCPC, or be working toward licensure.

Preferred qualities include experience working in a school setting, knowledge of community resources, cultural competency. Some evenings are required. Reliable transportation required.
