Full-Time School-Based Therapist — Roxana Junior High School

Therapist to provide trauma-informed therapeutic services to junior high school children and families exposed to violence, abuse and trauma. In addition to helping clients to develop ways to use their own strengths to cope with issues, therapist will provide education and support to caregivers to enhance their relationships and grow in their understanding of child development and the potential effects of childhood exposure to violence and/or trauma. Services will be delivered within the Roxana School District. 

Qualifications

Position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field, as well as experience utilizing appropriate treatment modalities with children who have experienced trauma, and thorough knowledge of childhood development. Must hold Illinois LCSW or LCPC, or be working toward licensure.

Preferred qualities include experience working in a school setting, knowledge of community resources, cultural competency. Some evenings are required. Reliable transportation required.
